Important Update: Discontinuation of Sound Station Alexa Skill

Hello Sound Station users,

After much thought, I’ve decided to discontinue the Sound Station Alexa skill as of January 1, 2025. This decision comes in response to a recent change by Google, which now requires all apps accessing Google Drive to undergo an annual third-party certification. The certification costs up to $2000 per year — a cost that’s just not feasible for Sound Station, which currently generates less than $100 annually.

To all our loyal users, I’m truly grateful for your support and understanding. As an alternative, I encourage you to check out Sound Stream, another Alexa skill of mine that offers the same great features but is integrated with Dropbox. Sound Stream allows you to store and stream your music, podcasts, and other audio collections, just as you did with Sound Station.
